Sermón: Disciple Connection

John 13:34-35
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Introduction:
Jesus called His disciples not only to follow Him, but to live in unity and love for one another. The connection between disciples is fundamental to reflecting Christ and advancing His mission. This sermon focuses on how to strengthen that connection, overcome obstacles and build relationships that glorify God.

1.The Foundation of Connection: Love as Jesus Loves.
John 13:34-35:

Love among disciples is the hallmark of Christ’s followers.

This love is not superficial; it is sacrificial, like Jesus’ love toward us.

1 John 4:7: “Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God.”

The connection between disciples should reflect the nature of God, who is love.

Evaluate your relationships with other believers. Are you loving as Jesus commands?

2.Unity in the Spirit
Ephesians 4:3
: “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

The connection between disciples does not depend on our human strength, but on the Holy Spirit uniting us.

Romans 12:4-5:
“For just as in one body we have many members, but not all members have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ.”

Though we are different, we share a common purpose in Christ.

Seek the Holy Spirit in prayer to strengthen unity in your faith community.

3.Overcoming Obstacles in Disciple Connections
Pride and Self-Sufficiency:
Philippians 2:3:
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in humility, each esteeming others better than himself.”

Humility is key to maintaining a healthy connection between disciples.

Forgiveness as a Bridge:
Matthew 18:21-22:
“¿How many times shall I forgive my brother who sins against me? Up to seventy times seven.”

Forgiveness restores relationships and reflects God’s grace.

It identifies areas of conflict or resentment with other disciples and seeks reconciliation.

4.Connecting Through Communion and Service

1.Communion as the Basis:
Acts 2:42:
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers.”

The early church grew spiritually and in numbers because they prioritized communion.

2.Mutual Service:
Galatians 6:2: “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Serving one another strengthens our relationships and demonstrates the love of Christ.

Actively participate in activities and ministries that foster fellowship and service in your church.

5.Shared Mission Brings Disciples Together
Matthew 28:19-20:
“Go and make disciples of all nations.”

The connection between disciples is strengthened when they work together to fulfill God’s purpose.

1 Corinthians 3:9: “For we are God’s co-workers.”

We are called to work as a team to expand God’s kingdom.

Find ways to collaborate with other disciples in evangelistic and community service projects.

6.The Fruits of Disciple Connection.
An Impacting Testimony:
John 17:21:
“That they all may be one; as you, O Father, are in me, and I in you.”

Unity among disciples shows the world the love and power of God.

Spiritual and Numerical Growth:
Acts 2:47: “And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

A connected and united church draws others to Christ.

Action: Pray for your church and faith community, asking for unity and spiritual growth.

Conclusión:
Connection among disciples is a command of Christ and a necessity for the church. Through love, unity, service and shared mission, we reflect God’s heart to the world. It is time to strengthen our relationships and work together to glorify Christ.

Moral:
“Disciple-to-disciple connection not only builds up the church, but shows the world the love and glory of God.”
